The Lowdown on Henna Brows

Here at Byōōdē Bar, our brow techs have always offered our Brow Rehab service and have shaped and tinted the entire area that we map out. Most people are familiar with classic tint staining, and it’s a fantastic option that lasts 4-6 weeks. But did you know we also offer henna tint for your brows?

What is henna?

Henna is a natural dye made from plants, and has a long history of being used for cosmetic purposes. Containing hydrolyzed proteins, vitamin complexes and antioxidants, henna actually helps strengthen hair and restore growth with every use. And besides being great for healing damaged hair follicles, henna also produces stunning volume and vibrant colour for a look you can’t ignore.

Why is dying brows with henna more expensive than classic tint?

For starters, henna penetrates the hair shaft differently than classic tint does, which allows the henna to last a full 2 weeks longer than you’re used to. It also not only colours the hair itself, but it also stains the skin, resulting in bold volume and hue. You can expect the colour to last 2 weeks on the skin, and 6-8 weeks on your brow hair.

Dying with henna is a longer process than classic tint—up to three times longer, depending on the desired shade. Your brows will present with a warmer, reddish-tinged colour for the first 24 hours and then fade to a subtle, natural finish over the next few days. Don’t worry, the end result is complementary to your skin tone—no orange hue! In fact, there are a variety of tint shades that can be curated to suit your hair and skin tone, from light to dark and anywhere in between.

If you’re after a longer lasting brow with a powdered makeup effect, or if you’re interested in a product that heals your hair as it dyes, henna brows just might be the perfect fit for you.
